Es gibt auf der Insel auch ein Gauguin Museum in dem der Werdegang des Malers nachvollzogen werden kann und man seine Werke (als Replikat) bewundern kann. Das Museum ist in Atuona, dem Hauptort der Insel . Hier gibt es auch einige Gesch\u00e4fte, eine Post, eine Bank und einige Snack-L\u00e4den. Insgesamt mehr Infrastruktur als wir auf den letzten Inseln gesehen haben. F\u00fcr uns am aller wichtigsten ist die Yachtwerft \u201eMarquesas Maintenance Service (MMS)\u201c. Dies ist der Grund warum wir diese Insel als erste der Marquesas Inseln angelaufen haben. Hier wollen wir Maya das erste Mal seit langer Zeit aus dem Wasser nehmen lassen. Es stehen einige Wartungsarbeiten an und auch eine Reinigung vom Unterwasserschiff kann sicherlich nicht schaden. F\u00fcr uns etwas \u00fcberraschend ist, dass das Kranen auf den Marquesas (und auch in Tahiti) deutlich g\u00fcnstiger ist als auf der Pazifikseite von S\u00fcd-\/und Mittelamerika. Normalerweise sind die Preise in Franz\u00f6sisch-Polynesien recht gesalzen. Mit MMS sind wir allerdings recht zufrieden. Wir haben unsere Wellendichtung ausgetauscht, die Furlex (Rollvorsegel) repariert und unser Gro\u00dfsegel n\u00e4hen lassen. Zudem haben wir die Zeit an Land genutzt, um das Boot zu reinigen und neu zu wachsen. Dort gibt es zwar auch eine sch\u00f6ne Ankerbucht, wir nehmen es allerdings zum Anlass mal das Transportmittel zu wechseln und f\u00fcr einen Tag einen Gel\u00e4ndewagen zu mieten. Die Stra\u00dfe auf der Insel ist nicht \u00fcberall befestigt und die \u00dcberquerung der Insel an sich schon ein kleines Abenteuer, bei dem wir immer wieder mit spektakul\u00e4ren Aussichten auf die Inseln und den Pazifik belohnt werden. In Puamau, dem Ort in dem das gr\u00f6\u00dfte Tiki ist, haben wir auch Therese kennengelernt. Ihrer Familie geh\u00f6rt die Site auf der das gr\u00f6\u00dfte Tiki zu finden ist (und viele weitere Tikis). Sie k\u00fcmmert sich auch um die Site mit den Tikis und darum, dass dort alles gut in Schuss ist. Sie ist super nett und wir haben von ihr auch einige Fr\u00fcchte frisch aus dem Garten bekommen. So zum Beispiel das l\u00e4chelnde Tiki. Es ist eine relativ kleine Statue, aber eine nette Wanderung von der Ankerbucht. Man muss zwar der Hauptstra\u00dfe entlang, aber auf der Insel herrscht allerdings nicht viel Verkehr und daher ist es kein Problem. Der Weg bergauf ist allerdings bei der Hitze schon anstrengend. Nach einigen Monaten auf den Tuamotus, wo man kaum eine Erhebung \u00fcber 10m findet, sind wir auch Berge nicht mehr gew\u00f6hnt. Auch in den verschiedenen Orten findet man Tikis. Manche davon sind neu und andere schon etwas \u00e4lter und von historischem Wert.<br>Auch in der Ankerbucht Taha Uku ist einiges los. Es waren hier zwischen 10 und 15 Boote in der Bucht. Auch die Versorgungsboote legen hier an, was in der engen Bucht nicht ganz einfach ist. Manchmal treffen wir uns mit anderen Seglern abends am Aussichtspunkt \u201eSemaphore\u201c, wo man einen sch\u00f6nen Blick auf die Bucht hat und bei einem Getr\u00e4nk sehr gut kl\u00f6nen kann. Das Wasser in der Ankerbucht ist nicht klar, weil vom Fluss immer etwas Erde angeschwemmt wird. Schwimmen ist daher nicht sehr sch\u00f6n. In der N\u00e4he der Ankerbucht gibt es auch eine Tankstelle mit einem kleinen Shop, wo man fast alles bekommen kann. Nach Atuona, wo die meisten Gesch\u00e4fte sind, ist es ein Fu\u00dfmarsch von ca. 20 bis 30 Minuten.<br>Uns hat die Insel gefallen.
