Es ist die s\u00fcdlichste Insel der Marquesas. Die \u00dcberfahrt ist etwa 40 Seemeilen. Generell sind die Marquesas Inseln relativ dicht beisammen und man kann bequem von einer Insel zur n\u00e4chsten bummeln. Oft ist es an einem Tag machbar, manchmal braucht man auch einen \u00dcbernacht-T\u00f6rn, aber eigentlich immer ist es gut \u00fcberschaubar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fatu Hiva ist eine der kleineren Inseln in den Marquesas &#8211; zumindest was die Einwohnerzahl angeht. Es gibt etwa 600 Bewohner und 2 nennenswerte Siedlungen: Hanavave (an der Bay of Virgins) und Omoa etwa 3sm weiter. Auf der anderen Seite der Insel ist noch Ouia. Dieser Ort ist superklein und praktisch verlassen. Leute kommen hier nur zum Jagen oder um Kopra zu machen. Nicht mal als Dorf w\u00fcrde ich es bezeichnen, aber bekannt, weil dort 1937 Thor Heyerdahl und seine Frau Liv gewohnt hat. Damals war der Ort noch von einem alten Mann und ein M\u00e4dchen bewohnt. Er hat auch ein Buch \u00fcber Fatu Hiva ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Bekannt geworden ist er allerdings eher mit seiner Kon-Tiki-Expedition mit der er mit einem Flo\u00df auf Raroia im Tuamotu-Archipel angekommen ist, um zu beweisen, dass Polynesien von S\u00fcdamerika aus besiedelt wurde. Der Beweis, dass man es mit den damaligen Mitteln von S\u00fcdamerika aus h\u00e4tte erreichen k\u00f6nnen ist ihm gelungen. Wir haben noch nicht alle gesehen, aber es ist mit Sicherheit eine sehr sch\u00f6ne Bucht. Die Aussichten sind spektakul\u00e4r! Nur die Fallwinde von den Bergen tr\u00fcben das Bild vom perfekten Ankerplatz. Es gibt viele B\u00f6en mit wechselnden Windrichtungen. Daher bewegen sich die Boote in der Bucht mitunter in sehr unterschiedlichen Richtungen. Gut, dass nicht viele Boote da sind und wir genug Platz zum ankern haben. Nur am letzten Tag kommt ein Katamaran direkt neben uns und tats\u00e4chlich h\u00e4lt sein Anker nicht, so dass er in der Nacht an uns vorbeidriftet. Es ging aber zum Gl\u00fcck alles gut aus und nichts ging zu Bruch&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Insel hat ein paar sehr sch\u00f6ne Wanderungen anzubieten. Dabei kann man phantastische Aussichten \u00fcber die Bucht bekommen oder auch zu einem Wasserfall wandern und dort baden. Das ist bei den Temperaturen super erfrischend! Trotzdem sind die Bewohner relativ gut auf Touristen als Kunden eingestellt. Viele verkaufen Schnitzereien mit traditionellen Mustern, kleine Tikis, Tapas (Bilder auf einer Art Baumpergament) und nat\u00fcrlich Fr\u00fcchte. Gerne wird auch getauscht. Leinen, Taschenlampen und Angelhaken sind sehr begehrt. Es kommen viele Segler hierher und einmal im Monat kommt auch die AnaNui 5 &#8211; ein Versorgungsboot, dass auch gleichzeitig Kreuzfahrten durchf\u00fchrt und daher auch Touristen in den Ort bringt. Davon abgesehen gibt es aber in Hanavave nicht viel. Hierher kommen nicht so viele Segler, obwohl es eigentlich der Hauptort der Insel ist. Der Ort sieht etwas aufger\u00e4umter aus als Hanavave, allerdings ist die Ankerbucht lange nicht so sch\u00f6n. In Omoa soll n\u00e4chstes Jahr das Marquesas Art &amp; Culture Festival stattfinden. Es ist ein Kulturfestival, dass alle 2 Jahre in den Marquesas stattfindet und abwechselnd immer auf einer anderen Insel durchgef\u00fchrt wird. Man sieht im Ort schon einige Vorbereitungen f\u00fcr dieses Spektakel. Davon abgesehen ist es aber auch in Omoa sehr ruhig. Die Familien verbringen die Wochenenden am Strand mit Grillen und Bodysurfen. Kinder gehen auch gerne in dem Fluss schwimmen, der mitten durch den Ort f\u00fchrt (f\u00fcr uns auch mal ein willkommenes Frischwasserbad, dem wir nicht widerstehen konnten). Alles in allem eine sehr entspannte S\u00fcdseeinsel. Es hat uns gut gefallen und die spektakul\u00e4ren Aussichten auf die Bucht, sowie das Baden im Wasserfall werden wir wohl lange in Erinnerung behalten.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Von Tahuata aus sind wir nach Fatu Hiva gesegelt.
