Die Hafen und die kleine Stadt Mazag\u00f3n ist quasi ein Vorort von Helva bzw. f\u00fcr Schiffe an der Einfahrt nach Helva. Man merkt hier sehr stark, dass die Gegend sehr industriell gepr\u00e4gt ist und das die Chemie-Industrie eine gro\u00dfe Rolle spielt. Es liegen auch vor der Stadt viele gr\u00f6\u00dfere Schiffe auf Reede. Diese Stadt hat uns schon deutlich besser gefallen. Hier gibt es auch etwas Leben. Eine sch\u00f6ne Altstadt und einige sehr nette Tapas-Bars laden zum verweilen ein. Neben der Stadt ist eine sehr gro\u00dfe Marinebasis die von der spanischen Marine und (noch mehr) von der US Navi genutzt wird. Der Hafen ist gro\u00df und praktisch, aber etwas abgelegen von der Stadt und nicht wirklich sch\u00f6n. In Barbate gibt es eine gro\u00dfe Fischereiflotte (ja, gibt es immernoch, auch wenn es fr\u00fcher sicherlich viel mehr war). Dabei wird auch viel Tunfisch gefangen. In der Saison werden vor der Stadt sehr gro\u00dfe Netze aufgestellt, in die man besser nicht segeln sollte. Die Stadt selbst ist eigentlich ganz nett. Es ist ein touristischer Ort, der allerdings eher von Spaniern als von internationalen G\u00e4sten besucht wird.
